Importance of Employee Training and Development

Training presents a wonderful opportunity to broaden the knowledge base of all employees, despite the fact that many employers find development opportunities to be expensive. It's possible that projects will take longer to complete when workers miss time at the office to attend training sessions. The investment of time and money in employee training and development is beneficial not only to the company as a whole but also to the individual employees. This is true despite the possibility of adverse effects (Noe, 2014).

Addressing the weaknesses of the employee

The majority of workers have certain skill gaps that are connected to their work. You can acquire the skills that each employee needs to hone by participating in a training program that will assist you in doing so (Craig, 1987). Through the use of a development program, all of the workers are brought up to the same level, which results in all of them having the same capabilities. Because of this, any weak places in the organization that largely relied on other people to carry out everyday duties will be eliminated. When the essential training is received, it results in an informed workforce overall, with workers who are able to step in, when necessary, work in teams, or operate independently without constant instruction from other people (Craig, 1987).

Improvements in Employee Performance

When it comes to performing their jobs, employees who have received the necessary training are in a stronger position. She acquires a deeper understanding of the proper procedures and best practices for completing the responsibilities she faces on a daily basis. Because the employee has gained a deeper comprehension of the industry as a whole as well as the responsibilities connected to her job, she may experience an increase in her level of self-assurance as a direct result of the training (Armstrong, 2018). This self-assurance can serve as motivation for her to work even harder and come up with innovative approaches to achieve her goals.

In addition, continuous training ensures that your employees are up to date on the latest trends in the market (Armstrong, 2018). Your company's ability to continue to be a market leader and a tough competitor depends on having staff members who are knowledgeable and who stay current with the shifting standards of the industry.

Structured training and development

A well-planned training and development program ensures that employees will always have the same level of consistency and background knowledge (Ibraiz Tarique, 2014). Maintaining a consistent approach to the core values and procedures of the company is of the utmost significance.

Every worker is expected to have a thorough comprehension of the company's policies and standards. This addresses administrative responsibilities, concerns about safety, and concerns about discrimination (Ibraiz Tarique, 2014). If employees in these departments are given regular training in the relevant topics, they will, at the very least, be made aware of the information.

Employee Job satisfaction

Employees who work for companies that provide them with opportunities for training and development have an advantage over those who work for companies in which workers are required to hunt for their own training opportunities. When a firm prioritizes its employees' professional development, it sends a clear message to those employees about the value the company places on them. The training results in the production of an encouraging work environment (Muhammad, 2010).

There is a possibility that workers will have access to training that, in other circumstances, they would not have been aware of or sought out on their own initiative. If they are made to feel appreciated and given the opportunity to challenge themselves through training, employees may experience greater job satisfaction (Cohen, 2017).

  1. Totally agreed the content above Rayan. Although firms are spending more money each year on staff training and development, many executives may find it to be a difficult challenge (Jehanzeb & Bashir, 2013). The role of training and development in human resources management is to close the performance gaps between actual and desired performance (Elnaga & Imran, 2013; Nassazi, 2013). According to Nassazi (2013), senior executives identify needs at the strategic level based on the organization's goals, mission, and strategy.

  4. Agree on the content Rayan and further wish to state that Employee training and development programs are essential to the success of businesses worldwide. Not only do these programs offer opportunities for staff to improve their skills, but also for employers to enhance employee productivity and improve company culture. It is very necessary for the organization to design the training very carefully (Michael Armstrong, 2000). The design of the training should be according to the needs of the employees (Ginsberg, 1997). Those organizations which develop a good training design according to the need of the employees as well as to the organization always get good results (Partlow, 1996; Tihanyi, 2000; Boudreau., 2001). It seems that Training design plays a very vital role in the employee as well as organizational performance. a bad training design is nothing but the loss of time and money (Tsaur and Lin, 2004).
